Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown noted he will need a coalition of understanding between player, coach, and medical staff to get star center Joel Embiid back on the court.

Still listed as doubtful for tonight's Game 3 against the Miami Heat, Embiid has yet to be cleared for a full-contact practice, which he will need before suiting up for the Sixers.

“It's a collaborative thing between Joel and doctors and me,” said Brown this morning. “It's all the stuff that revolves around comfort. We feel responsible for his health and those types of things.”

Embiid has been eager to help his team throughout the postseason and now more than ever after the Heat tied affairs at 1-1 with a resolute 10-point win in Game 2.

Yet a decision to rush him can prove ultimately dangerous to his long-term health and put more than just this postseason in jeopardy, potentially causing permanent damage to his eye after suffering an orbital bone fracture during the last stretch of the regular season.

Embiid has missed the team's last 10 games, but the Sixers have managed a 9-1 record in those games, still plenty capable of holding down the fort and waiting until he's cleared to take the court once again.
