Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown has just given his own take on the much-talked about shooting of Sixers star Ben Simmons. Apparently, the Aussie ball-handler's shot has improved dramatically over the past few months.

For starters, Brown expressed how he believes that this has been one of the “most overrated topics” he's been involved in throughout his entire coaching career. Nonetheless, he did acknowledge that Simmons' improved shooting has much to do with the Simmons' mindset coming in.

“Ben Simmons is going to play basketball and the sport is going to tell him what he should or shouldn’t do,” Brown said, via Marc Narducci of The Philadelphia Inquirer. “… I think his mindset coming down…and his willingness to find space and find threes, that has been a paradigm shift. That has been an attitudinal change, a philosophical, has to be internal decision that he has made.”

However, when asked to describe how he intends to incorporate this new weapon in Philly's offensive system, coach Brown remained tight-lipped.

“I have seen a player that is cocky and playing and when the game says you should shoot because nobody is on you, he does,” Brown said. “And he doesn’t blink and his teammates love it, and so does his head coach. But as far as going deeper than that and like, numbering it up or sitting him if he doesn’t shoot, I am not doing that.”

It is obvious that Simmons has taken advantage of the months-long season hiatus to work on his game. His shooting — or lack thereof — has been one of the biggest criticisms in his career, and apparently, he has been listening.
