The Philadelphia 76ers are already one of the NBA's top teams. But if their young talent continues to develop, they could become downright scary.

Point guard Ben Simmons came into his own this season, making the first All-Star appearance of his career. And Sixers head coach Brett Brown thinks Simmons is only getting better. When asked his opinion of his star point guard's ability in the half court, Brown answered succinctly.

“It’s evolving,” he said, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post.

Nets veteran Jared Dudley made headlines on Wednesday when he posited that Ben Simmons, a non-shooter, is just “average” in the half court, comments that sparked widespread discussion on not just Simmons' effectiveness in a slower game, but all ball handlers who lack shooting range.

The Sixers are heading into Game 3 of their first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets, and Simmons is crucial to their success. In Game 1, the 22-year-old was came out flat on both ends of the floor, but he truly made an impact in Game 2. He posted a triple-double in Philadelphia's blowout victory, tallying 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists in just 30 minutes on the court while also making life hard on star Nets guard D'Angelo Russell.

Philadelphia selected Simmons first overall in the 2016 draft out of Louisiana State University. After a solid rookie year, it looks like the former LSU Tiger might be reaching his true potential. Last season, he averaged 16.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists while shooting 56.3 percent from the field.

Game 3 of the Sixers' first round match-up against the Brooklyn Nets will begin at 8:00 p.m. EST on Thursday night.
