The Philadelphia 76ers will be playing for their playoff lives on Sunday evening against the Toronto Raptors. With the team gearing up for a massive Game 7 matchup north of the border, Sixers head coach Brett Brown had some interesting things to say ahead of the much-anticipated showdown.

However, none of Brown's statements leading up to Sunday evening's Game 7 matchup against the Raptors was quite as peculiar as the following one — especially with the Sixers head coach seemingly needing a win to retain his job.

Despite housing the quartet of Jimmy Butler, Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris, among some other talented players, the Sixers just haven't gotten it going often enough under Brown's direction. With the 76ers seemingly falling asleep at times throughout this postseason, Marc Stein of The New York Times recently reported that Brown could be finished in Philadelphia if the Raptors emerge victorious in the do-or-die contest.

“Beyond the uncertain fates of Butler, Harris and the sharpshooting J.J. Redick, rumblings in league coaching circles have grown louder by the day that 76ers Coach Brett Brown needs an N.B.A. finals berth to keep his job. Brown, I’m told, has little chance of surviving a second-round exit.

With Game 7 now on the immediate horizon, perhaps it is time for Brown to simply “Trust The Process.”
