When Markelle Fultz injured his shoulder and missed most of the season it really took a toll on him, not only just his basketball game but also his mental state.

Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown thinks that Fultz in a much better place now, especially when it comes to his mental state.

“He hurt his shoulder, it effected portions of his psyche…I feel like what we should all be most excited about is he's doing fine now… his spirit, his motor is back.”

Although Fultz still isn't completely 100 percent, he is getting a lot closer and is mostly healthy, and that has helped his spirit.

The next step for Fultz now is to continue to play basketball and get on the court. He didn't play much during the playoffs, just because he was rusty, and Brown would like to see him play this summer. Fultz said in his exit interview that he wasn't sure about playing in the Summer League, but for Brown, it's something he really wants to see Fultz do.

For Fultz, that seems like probably the best thing for him at this point in his career. He can practice all he wants, especially on his jump shot, but he won't be a 100 percent confident until he starts to have success in a game situation, even if it is just the summer league.

After coming back from his shoulder injury, Fultz appeared in 14 games with the Sixers this year. He averaged 18.1 minutes, 7.1 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game.
