The conversation surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers has taken plenty of different turns throughout the early part of the season.

At one point, some thought that the Sixers should look to trade either Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid while others have viewed them as a legitimate title contenders. After defeating the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas with 121-109 being the final score, the pendulum may swing in the opposite and more positive direction.

It's worth noting that Sixers head coach Brett Brown has remained confident throughout the ups and downs. He even stated that his team is “designed for the playoffs” after they took down the Bucks.

“This team is designed for the playoffs,” Brown said, via Malika Andrews of ESPN. The road we have traveled so far has been erratic at times… but to date I like some of things I’ve seen against the best teams.”

After a heroic effort from Kawhi Leonard in clutch time, the Sixers barely missed out on their opportunity to compete in the Eastern Conference Finals last season. They will have no shortage of worthy challengers in their efforts in 2019-20, with teams like the Bucks, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors all looking strong.

So far this season, the Sixers hold a 23-10 record and are fourth in the Eastern Conference standings. They are currently just a half-game back from the Celtics and Heat, so they could experience a significant rise in their placement if they continue to win games.

The Sixers will travel to Orlando to face off with the Magic on Friday to play the next stop on their schedule.
