The Philadelphia 76ers made some huge strides forward this year, and if they brought back the same team that they had this year, there is no question they would be at least a little better, because of the strides the young players will take during the offseason. Brett Brown isn't ready to trust natural progression just yet, though.

For Brown, he still believes they are at least one star player away from really competing for a championship.

One guy that the Sixers will probably make a hard push for is LeBron James, and Joel Embiid has already said he will try and recruit anyone he needs to.

“I’ll do whatever this team needs me to do,” Embiid said of attracting free agents via the Philly Daily News. “I feel like I’m the leader. If the team needs me to recruit somebody, I’ll be here. I’ll be doing that.

“I want to win. I feel like any of those guys that they want to go after that’s going to help us win, I’ll be right here helping them.”

If James does decide to leave Cleveland, and he wants to stay in the Eastern Conference, the most logical destination seems to be Philadelphia.

They have the young talent in Embiid and Ben Simmons, and with draft picks piled up they still have more young guys that will come in and could be impact players.

They could also try to trade those draft picks to attempt to go after a guy like Kawhi Leonard, although the Spurs asking price might be a little too much for what they are willing to give up.
