Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown thinks “it's important” for the Sixers to defeat the Boston Celtics on Wednesday at home.

The Sixers are 0-3 versus the Celtics this season and have struggled against them over the past few seasons.

Boston eliminated the Sixers in the 2018 playoffs in the second-round in five games as well.

The Sixers enter Wednesday with a record of 46-25, which is good for third place in the Eastern Conference standings. The team has won five games in a row and is 7-3 in its last 10 games.

The Celtics, meanwhile, are 43-28. Boston is in the fifth spot in the East and three games back of Philly. The Celtics are 6-4 in their last 10 games.

The Sixers arguably have the second-best starting lineup in the league after the Golden State Warriors. Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler and Joel Embiid are All-Stars, while J.J. Redick and Tobias Harris are solid players as well.

Before the 2018-19 season started, the Celtics were the heavy favorite to win the East. Boston, though, has been inconsistent all season.

After Philly acquired Butler from the Minnesota Timberwolves and Harris from the LA Clippers, pundits around the league started to view the Sixers as a better team than Boston.

Wednesday will definitely be a good game in the City of Brotherly Love.
