Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown is trying to compare Sixers big man Al Horford to San Antonio Spurs legend Manu Ginobili.

Horford will be coming off the bench for the Sixers moving forward, something Ginobili did with the Spurs:

When Horford signed a $109 million contract with the Sixers this past summer in free agency, no one saw him coming off the bench even though many pundits around the league knew his fit with stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons was questionable.

While the Sixers are on their way to making the playoffs barring an incredible collapse, Brown and his staff have to figure out which lineups are the most effective come playoff time, especially in the fourth quarter when the game is in the balance.

Horford only played 18 minutes on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets. He finished with six points and three rebounds on five shots.

Al Horford has played in 51 games for the Sixers this season. He’s averaging 11.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 32.4 percent from beyond the arc and 72.9 percent from the free-throw line. However, those splits were as a starter. Horford's numbers are probably going to drop over the next few weeks now that he's coming off the bench.

The Sixers are 35-21 on the season after defeating the Nets. They are in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
