Philadelphia 76ers point-forward Ben Simmons is slowly but surely developing his jump shot. Brett Brown is encouraging the growth of this dimension of his game by encouraging him to take more triples to acclimate himself.

Brown was interviewed by the press after their lopsided 141-98 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was also during this game that Simmons was able to sink his second 3-point shot of the season. Understandably, a lot of Sixers fans celebrated as if they won the Larry O'Brien trophy.

Per Rich Hofmann of The Athletic, Brown wants his star playmaker to get comfortable with the idea of shooting 3-pointers. The Sixers coach also wants him to take on a more aggressive mindset when attacking.

“You can pass this along to his agent, his family, his friends and him: I want one 3-point shot a game minimum… And the mentality where he’s turning corners and trying to dunk or finish tight will equal higher efficiency,” Brown said.

It's easy to see why Brown would want Simmons to have a more aggressive stance on the attack. He is 6-foot-10 and ridiculously quick, so he can definitely bully his way into the net.

If the 23-year-old Australian manages to use his body a lot better, he can score more than the 13.2 points he's averaging so far this season and become an unstoppable force like Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Moreover, developing his shot more will make him an even better dynamic offensive weapon. A player who can score and pass from anywhere is already a rare skillset in the NBA. Add to that the ability to shoot at a high level and Simmons will easily become one of the best players the hardwood has ever seen.

This is why Brett Brown wants his man to score more buckets from deep. Becoming more confident with his shot will turn Ben Simmons into a force to be reckoned with for the Sixers.
