Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Charles Barkley reacted to the Philadelphia 76ers acquiring four-time All-Star Jimmy Butler. The Sixers stunned the basketball world when they successfully struck a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

Barkley is not really known for agreeing with the way things play out in the league, but acquiring another All-Star should help the Sixers.

Philly is still hoping Butler will re-sign with the team when he becomes a free agent next year. Otherwise, the trade could be a bust for the Sixers, considering they gave away versatile young players in Robert Covington and Dario Saric.

But for this season alone, Butler gives the young Sixers team a veteran All-Star presence they desperately need. The team wants to stay on par with East powerhouse teams like the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors and up-and-coming Milwaukee Bucks.

Philly is off to a slightly disappointing 8-6 start this season. Defense is a key area for the team's improvement as they are currently ranked 20th in the league in opponent points per game (112.9).

While the Sixers have lost some versatility by trading Saric and Covington, Butler is not a slouch in that area, either. Reuben Frank of NBC Sports points out this interesting Butler stat:

Butler has averaged at least 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1½ steals in each of the last five seasons. He and Russell Westbrook are the only players to do that each year since the 2014-15 season.

Butler is one of the best two-way players in the league. He will bring his all-around game to a Sixers team already bannered by young stars in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.
