Only two things are constant in life: 1. Change and 2. Ben Simmons trade rumors. Reports have surfaced that the Philadelphia 76ers have rejected a few impressive offers from several teams in exchange for the disgruntled star. But things will only heat up as the NBA trade deadline approaches.

A handful of big-time names have popped up since the entire Simmons drama unfolded last year, including Russell Westbrook, De'Aaron Fox, Damian Lillard, and James Harden. But still, nothing concrete has materialized for the Sixers, with general manager Daryl Morey not budging in terms of his asking price for Simmons.

Before their game against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night, Sixers coach Doc Rivers sounded off on their roster's needs ahead of the NBA trade deadline (via ESPN).

“You need playmakers in the playoffs, you just do. You need guys who are going to make plays for themselves and others. And the more you have, the better team you have, the better chance you have.”

Is Rivers implying they'll only take a playmaker in exchange for Simmons? The Sixers already rejected the offer of the Detroit Pistons centered around Jerami Grant. But the team also reportedly brushed off the offer of the Sacramento Kings, which included Tyrese Haliburton, a fast-rising playmaker. So what now?

The Sixers are the ninth-worst team in the NBA in terms of assists with only 22.8 per game. Fortunately for them, as the saga worse than Twilight drags on, Joel Embiid has been a beast, carrying the team to a 26-18 record.
