The Philadelphia 76ers signaled to the rest of the NBA that they are seeking a championship this season and general manager Elton Brand is in charge of getting them there.

The aggressive trade they made to acquire Jimmy Butler was evidence that the Sixers were going all in on this roster, but there are still some moves to be made.

Philly has an open roster spot and according to Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philly, Elton Brand wants to look for more frontcourt depth. Adding a player to the frontcourt is easier said than done, but it is something that would help solidify the roster in advance of a playoff run.

Adding a forward or a center who can stretch the defense with his jumper could be the way to go for Brand and the Sixers. Three-point shooting is still something that Philly needs, so acquiring a stretch big man would be one way to kill two birds with one stone.

The good news for Brand and the Sixers is that they shouldn't feel much pressure to make a move until they feel they find the right piece. They are currently in third place in the Eastern Conference with a 22-12 record, only 2.5 games back behind the first-place Raptors.

The Sixers will likely hover around the top of the conference all season. But they aren't going to remain satisfied with regular season success. They want to take another step in the playoffs and potentially make a run at the NBA Finals.
