Philadelphia 76ers forward Ben Simmons is finally set to play in his first NBA preseason action on Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.

According to Sarah Todd of The Inquirer, Memphis head coach David Fizdale had some huge praise for the 21-year-old ahead of the contest.

“Any ideas? These guys are just getting taller and more talented and more skilled,” Grizzlies coach David Fizdale said Wednesday morning. “He’s one of those super freaks. But I think he’s hungry and he’s ready to show the league what he can do, and I’m rooting for the kid.”

Although Simmons has yet to play in a single NBA game, he has already garnered respect and admiration around the league. He is a uniquely talented player that has the size of a small forward at 6-foot-10 but can ball handle and playmake like a point guard with his court vision.

There have been questions about his outside shooting ability that is currently a work in progress, but it hasn't derailed the hype around him. He has the potential to quickly become one of the rising stars in the league because of his skill set.

Simmons could also step into a prominent role as one of the core pieces to the puzzle for the 76ers to help lift them into relevancy in the league alongside the likes of big man Joel Embiid and rookie point guard Markelle Fultz. These comments make it quite clear of what kind of promising talent that Simmons possesses.
