Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers was born to be an NBA superstar. In his recent appearance in “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” the reigning Rookie of the Year demonstrated how this was literally the case for him as a baby.

When asked by Corden to confirm the story in which Simmons was said to have learned to dribble the basketball  prior to taking his first steps, the 22-year-old concurred. He even sampled his shooting prowess as a two-year old child.

Given that this is a comedy show, there is a likelihood that Corden was kidding here, and that Simmons just went along with the tall tale. Then again, this is the same player that is considered to be the cornerstone of the Sixers franchise, so you'll never know.

However, what caught the eye of some keen observers is the fact that Simmons used his right hand to demonstrate his pacifier-shooting prowess, while he is widely known to be a lefty. This led some to believe that this narrative is nothing more than an exaggeration from his end.

Nevertheless, this inconspicuous mystery does nothing to take anything away from Simmons and his path to greatness. With a sensational rookie year under his belt, the 2016 first overall pick has the world at his feet.

There is a lot of pressure on Simmons and the rest of the Sixers this year to outdo last season's impressive accomplishments. Nonetheless, Ben Simmons looks poised to take his game — and his team — to the next level.
