The Philadelphia 76ers are entering a big summer, and the next couple of months will define how good they are in the 2018-19 season. Unfortunately, they've been set back by the burner account scandal involving President of Basketball Operations Bryan Colangelo, who has since re-signed from his position after the conclusion of the investigation.

Now, the Sixers have rolled with head coach Brett Brown as their interim President, and that means he'll be leading the charge in the upcoming NBA Draft and free agency unless Philly finds a replacement for him quickly.

According to Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia, one of the priorities of Brown is to bring back shooting guard J.J. Redick, who is entering free agency for the second consecutive summer.

“I love coaching JJ Redick. I really hope I can coach him again. I think the city and certainly his teammates understand what he brings to the table. Everyone gets the benefits that Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons have when they play with somebody like that. I really hope I can coach him again.”

In his 12th season in the NBA, Redick averaged a career-high 17.1 points as well as a career-high 2.8 made three-pointers per game to go along with 2.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He became not only a perfect fit to place alongside Ben Simmons, but was also an influential voice on the bench and in the locker room. He earned the trust of coach Brown and his teammates, and thrived for a career year.

Redick earned $23 million last season, but it's unclear what the market is for him this summer, when teams are focused on the draft, star players, and keeping cap space for the highly anticipated summer of 2019.
