J.J. Redick of the Philadelphia 76ers just notched the first double-double of his career — both as a pro and college.

Redick finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds to help the Sixers beat the Charlotte Hornets, 118-114. Remarkably, the 34-year-old sharpshooter was also two rebounds shy for his first-ever triple-double.

J.J. Redick was a standout at Duke where he was tagged as one of the best college prospects entering the NBA. During his college career, he practically won every award imaginable, including the National Player of the Year in 2006. Come the 2006 NBA Draft, he was selected 11th overall by the Orlando Magic.

He struggled in his first few years in the league. While his shooting talent and basketball IQ was evident, his lack of size and speed was seen as a liability on defense. But slowly and surely, Redick proved that he belonged in the NBA.

In his time with the LA Clippers, Redick revived his career as he became an intrinsic part of the team's playoff campaigns.

Now in his 13th year as a pro and as a member of the Sixers, Redick looks better than ever. He's logging in a career-best 17.6 points per game  on top of 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists rebounds. He also knocks down three 3-pointers a night — a career-high.
