Coming into the season, many believed that this would be the season that the Philadelphia 76ers finally started to see some of the rewards from their rebuild. Even with the improvements though, not many people believed that they would be one of the favorites to make it to the NBA Finals.

According to J.J Redick, who has been a huge part of the success, not even people inside the organization thought they would have this much success.

We’ve changed our goals now like four times. You know, it was make the playoffs. And then it was maybe we can win 50 games. Then it was home court. Then it was the third seed. I think I remember talking to a couple of people in our front office about maybe getting a first-round victory,” Sixers guard J.J. Redick told Derek Bodner of The Athletic.. “Now, we don’t feel any sense of complacency. We’re not satisfied.”

For a team that was so young and hadn't experienced success, it's really not a surprise that the team's goals kept changing.

At the beginning of the year, the 76ers just getting to the playoffs would have been considered a huge win by many around the league. But with the way they are playing now, if they don't make it to the NBA Finals, it might really seem like a big disappointment to some. What a difference just six months can make. Redick and the 76ers will play the winner of the series between the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks.
