There's no denying that James Harden was a disappointment for the Philadelphia 76ers last season. After forcing his way out of the Brooklyn Nets in the middle of the campaign in order to join forces with Joel Embiid in Philly, Harden failed to live up to the lofty expectations most folks had on him when he arrived. This ultimately led to the Sixers getting bounced in the second round of the playoffs by the Miami Heat.

There was a lot of talk surrounding Harden and his commitment level to the Sixers. However, the former league MVP proved that he is fully committed to the cause in Philly after his decision to opt-out of his $47.4 player option for 2022-23 in order to take less money. This move was aimed to help Philly get more cap space in order to sign more impact players that could help them become more competitive next season.

ESPN broadcaster Kendrick Perkins had nothing but praise for Harden and his selfless decision. According to Perk, he has no doubt that James Harden is now all-in on the Sixers:

“He's (James Harden) opted out $47M and taking less money,” Perkins said, via ClutchPoints on Twitter. “… His actions are saying ‘Let's get this done, I want to win a championship, I want to go out here, and I want to build.' … He's been living in the gym. He's been working his behind off. So yes, James Harden has proven that he's all-in. He's proven that he's lost himself in the team. And I do think he will come back a better version than what he did last season in the postseason.”

As Big Perk revealed, Harden has also been working hard in the offseason to bring out the best version of himself for Philly this coming season. Don't sleep on James Harden and the Sixers.
