Philadelphia 76ers guard Jimmy Butler has reached out to Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Tyus Jones' ailing mother.

Butler wore a pair of pink Air Jordan 32 Lows with the inscription, “Mama Jones We Fighting” during Game 3 of the Sixers' playoff series against the Toronto Raptors on May 2.

Jones posted an Instagram update on March 8 saying doctors diagnosed his mother, Debbie, with early-stage breast cancer. He also mentioned she was “doing great and fighting extremely hard.”

Jones also told CBS Minnesota his mom was “in great spirits” during an April 3 interview.

It's been a crazy experience, you know, honestly. Our family is extremely close already, but it's just been something that we've handled as a family.

She's been great with it and very positive, upbeat. She's in great spirits. Honestly, that helps everyone else around her.

According to Sports Illustrated's Emily Caron, “the Timberwolves held an online auction to raise money for breast health awareness to support Tyus and the Jones family in April.”

The gesture from Jimmy Butler to Jones's family was a great one, to say the least. Let's not forget he and Jones were teammates with the Timberwolves from 2017 to 2018.

Many players can get caught up in the busyness of the NBA playoffs. Not Butler. He took time to pay tribute to Debbie Jones. It was a simple gesture which will certainly go a long way.

Butler's fashion statement certainly helped fire him up on Thursday. He had a near triple-double with 22 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists in Philadelphia's resounding 116-95 win in Game 3. With the victory, the Sixers took a 2-1 series lead over the Raptors.
