Joel Embiid had a monstrous performance for the Philadelphia 76ers in the first half of their game against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night.

Embiid stuffed the stat sheet in the opening half, tallying 30 points and 14 rebounds. The third-year center also added three steals and a block.

According to ESPN, Embiid became the first player to record at least 30 points and 10 rebounds by halftime since Antawn Jamison. Jamison recorded the feat in a 118-102 loss to the Seattle SuperSonics on Dec. 3, 2000 when he was still playing for the Golden State Warriors.

Embiid eventually finished with 42 points and 18 rebounds for Philly. ESPN added that the 24-year-old superstar now has 10 30-point, 15-rebound games this season. The last player to have at least 10 30-point, 15-rebound performances for Philadelphia was Charles Barkley, who had 11 during the 1989-90 season:

Riding on the back of Joel Embiid, the Sixers held on to a 132-127 win over the Suns on the road in Phoenix. Embiid finished four points shy of his career-high 46 points, which he posted on Nov. 15, 2017 against the Los Angeles Lakers. He did this despite being a game-time decision with a sore knee.

Ben Simmons also had a solid offensive night for the Sixers, as he finished with 20 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field. JJ Redick added 27 points and four rebounds.

The win improved Philadelphia's record to 24-14 almost halfway through the 2018-19 NBA season. The Sixers are currently the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference standings behind the Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, and Indiana Pacers.
