The NBA season is coming to an end soon, which means MVP votes should be pouring in. Joel Embiid has been playing some of his best basketball and believes he's the most deserving of the award. He attempts to make his case after the Philadelphia 76ers' massive victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to ESPN, Embiid believes he's done enough to secure the MVP trophy. The Sixers' star center goes on to explain, “If it happens, great. If it doesn't, I don't know what I have to do. I'll feel like they hate me. I feel like the standard for guys in Philly or for me is different than everyone else.”

On Sunday night, Joel Embiid stacked the stat sheet with 44 points, 17 rebounds, five blocks, and three assists. He led the Sixers to a massive victory over a tough Cavs team. Regardless, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets has given Embiid a run for his money yet again.

It's unclear who will win the MVP award in the NBA this season. Both Jokic and Embiid are the front runners for now, as they're dominating from the center position. However, Joel Embiid has done a phenomenal job leading the Sixers throughout the Ben Simons situation, per ESPN.

“(Ben Simmons) was our second-best player at the time and was out, and at the All-Star break when we made the trade, we were a game out of first place in the East. There's a lot to be said about that.” – Doc Rivers, Sixers head coach.

It's clear that Joel Embiid is one of the best players in the league, however, Nikola Jokic isn't going anywhere. We'll see who wins the MVP, but the Sixers' star center might not want to put too much attention on that as it sounds like Jokic is the favorite to win the prestigious award a second year in a row.
