The Philadelphia 76ers logged another key victory on Friday, defeating the mighty Los Angeles Clippers, 106-103. This was thanks in large part to another tremendous performance from Joel Embiid who just matched a long-standing Sixers franchise record previously held by the one and only Allen Iverson.

Embiid finished with 36 points against LA on Friday, which marked his third straight 35-plus-point outing:

AI is one of the greatest players in Sixers franchise history and for Embiid to be mentioned in the same breath as him — especially in a scoring milestone — speaks volumes of the type of season Embiid is having right now.

Embiid lifted the Sixers to a huge win on Friday against another title contender in the Clippers. Embiid logged 36 points on 10-of-20 shooting, to go along with 14 rebounds, one assist, and a steal in 36 minutes of play. He also went 16-of-18 from the charity stripe as he dominated the post all night long.

That's now four straight wins for the Sixers, who themselves also took down the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. The Sixers have a tough week ahead of them which kicks off with a bout against the scorching Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Monday. They get the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday before closing out their week with back-to-back games against reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday and Saturday.

The Sixers' title aspirations will be put to the test next week and however, they fare in their next four outings could have a significant impact on the rest of their campaign.
