Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is on the cover of the popular video game NBA Live 19, a good sign that the Sixers star is absolutely on the rise.

EA Sports NBA Live revealed the good news via Twitter.

As revealed the game will be available on September 7.

Prior to releasing the cover, EA Sports actually uploaded a trailer of the game online. The trailer, seen below, featured several references — both through visuals and voice-over — to the Sixers and Embiid. It eventually sparked rumors that one of the Sixers' stars will be featured as the cover athletes.

Embiid is coming off a breakout season, logging in 22.9 points, 11 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game. He was a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year and was also named into the NBA All-Defensive Second Team, and the All-NBA Second Team.

Per Jon Johnson of SPORTSRADIO 94WIP, Embiid feels next year will be his MVP season:

“Next year I feel like it's going to be an MVP like season for me”

Just lately, Embiid also spoke about the recently concluded draft, their successful season, and possibly luring in LeBron James to the Sixers, per USA Today:

The process worked out pretty well, we got 50 wins last year, we got a lot of talented players on the team. We feel like adding another piece of his caliber is going to help us.”

He talked about how recruiting James would be of great help. But he also wants to have a big part in bringing a championship to Philly.

“He’s the best player in the league at this moment, so I think he takes us to another level, which is important because at the end of the day, I want to be a champion,” said Embiid. “I want to do it myself. I want to have a lot to do with winning a championship or bringing a championship back to the city of Philadelphia.”
