Philadelphia 76ers rising star center Joel Embiid is once again dealing with another ailment after suffering a sprained right hand during Sunday's contest against the Phoenix Suns.

According to Sarah Todd of The Philly Inquirer, the 76ers have listed Embiid as doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.

The 76ers have been quite cautious with handling Embiid's injuries this season erring on the side of sitting him out rather than risk possibly further issues. This along with his extensive history of injuries should likely push the team to keep him out of Tuesday's tilt.

The 23-year-old has continued to show progress in his development this season averaging a double-double with 23.9 points and 10.9 rebounds while shooting 48.6 percent from the field along with 2.0 blocks in 27 games played. This includes registering 15 doubles while leading the team with 20 games with at least 20 points scored.

Despite his promising play, the 76ers have hit a bit of a rough spot dropping nine out of 11 games before their current two-game win streak. It has pushed them to a couple games under .500 just outside the playoff picture. If Embiid is unable to give it a go against the Spurs, it will likely push veteran forward Amir Johnson into the fold for the spot start.
