Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid secured his 20th consecutive double-double after grabbing his 10th board of the night with a little less than eight minutes left in the third quarter of their game against the Chicago Bulls.
Embiid becomes the first Sixers player to have a double-double streak of 20 games since Hall of Famer Charles Barkley did it in 1987.
With 17 points and 10 rebounds, tonight @JoelEmbiid has his 20th straight double-double, dating back to Jan. 21 vs. Houston.
He's the first @sixers player with a double-double streak of at least 20 games since Charles Barkley had a 23-game streak in 1987.

Embiid finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes as the Sixers cruised to a 116-96 victory over the Bulls.
Per Sixers stats, only he and Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook (23 games) have a 20-plus game streak of double-doubles this season. Moreover, the Cameroonian also now has a league-leading 49 total 20-and-10 games this season.
.@sixers @JoelEmbiid and @russwest44 (23 games) are the only @NBA players this season to post double-doubles in 20-or-more consecutive games.
It's his 58th double-double of the season (fourth in the NBA) and his league-best 49th 20-10 game.

Embiid also finished with five assists and three blocks to round out his dominant night.
The Process has been a monster this season, posting Shaq-like averages of 27.6 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks. He certainly warrants consideration for First-Team All-NBA honors with those numbers. However, he has some strong competition in Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic, who has pieced together a magnificent season himself, leading the Nuggets to the second seed in the vaunted Western Conference.
The former no. 3 overall pick has emerged as the leader for the Sixers this season. Likewise, he is their anchor on the defensive end.
There is a stark difference when Embiid takes the floor and when he is on the bench. In a 16-game sample size, Philadelphia is just a sub-.500 team without Embiid, as they went 7-9 in the games he missed this season.
Thus, the Sixers will need their two-time All-Star to be fully healthy if they want to make a splash in the playoffs.
