Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid had several Sixers fans worried for a bit after he suddenly left Game 4 against the Atlanta Hawks and proceeded to the locker room.

According to reports, Embiid had to leave the game in the second quarter to get “medical attention.” No further details were provided on what treatment he was to get, though it should be noted the Sixers center has been dealing with a small lateral meniscus tear in his right  knee.

Fortunately, Joel Embiid returned to the Sixers bench minutes later and re-entered the contest late in the quarter. Although there were times he looked a bit bothered, he was still able to dominate in the opening half with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.

For what it's worth, in Game 3 of the series, Embiid also had an injury scare when he appeared to hurt his left knee (something that Hawks fans even cheered for). With that said, the Sixers will likely be more cautious of the All-Star center's health in order to avoid a more serious issue.

Embiid's injury woes have been the main concern of the team and it's fans, and it is safe to say the health struggles have been a major reason why the Cameroonian did not break out earlier than expected until this season–during which he has become an MVP candidate and established himself as a force on both offense and defense.

Hopefully the issue is nothing serious and won't be  a long-term problem. After all, the Sixers are poised to reach the Eastern Conference Finals where they will need Embiid to be at 100 percent health.
