Joel Embiid is already a big problem for opposing teams in both the literal and figurative sense, and the last thing they want to see from the Sixers big man is him infusing the technical genius of Hakeem Olajuwon to his craft. Well, here’s some bad news for those teams: Joel Embiid is in the process of learning the post maneuvers of The Dream.

Embiid was a terror for big men covering him last season. The Cameroonian giant averaged 22.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 blocks and made most of his matchups in 2017-18 look helpless in stopping him on offense.

Light and quick on his feet and also possessing a decent touch from deep for a big man, Joel Embiid often looked unstoppable whenever he’s on the attack. He was also an imposing figure on defense, as he makes it harder for opponents to get attempts at the rim without getting bothered by Embiid’s tentacles.

Embiid and Ben Simmons are the rocks Philly’s future is built upon, and even though they got knocked out by the Boston Celtics in the second round of this year’s playoffs, the Sixers are expected to be among the top contenders for at least the Eastern Conference title next season.

The Sixers finished with a 52-30 record in the 2017-18 campaign – the franchise’s best since 1983-84.
