The Philadelphia 76ers may have won on Sunday against the Phoenix Suns, but it was certainly not an easy one and it also came at a high price. Winning 123-110, the score did not necessarily reflect how competitive the game was until the last few minutes of the contest. The team also witnessed a familiar sight which they wish they would not see again.

Their talented young center, Joel Embiid, was seen holding on to his hand after falling on it in the final period.

The good news is that he was able to remain on the court and lead his team to victory. The Sixers did not waste time in having the Cameroonian international go through an X-ray to check if there’s any structural damage to his hand. Fortunately, it came back negative and Joel Embiid is now just diagnosed with a sprain, according to Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer.

Joel Embiid's availability for the Sixers' next game still hangs in the balance, but with how the team have always taken a cautious approach on his health, it won't be surprising if they will opt to rest Embiid should he feel some pain and discomfort in the next few days.

The schedule favors Embiid and the Sixers, though, as they will have two days off before they return to action on Wednesday versus the San Antonio Spurs.
