The Philadelphia 76ers kicked their 2018-19 NBA campaign with a bitter 105-87 loss at the hands of the Boston Celtics, who they were supposed to give a big challenge Wednesday night. But at least, Sixers big man Joel Embiid did not lose his social media swagger, as he took to Twitter to post a hilarious postgame message, one that came at the expense of former NBAer Jalen Rose.

Take a minute to chuckle at another Twitter gold by Embiid, who never runs out of hilarious materials.

Joel Embiid’s dig at Jalen Rose was an obvious reference to the 81 points Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant hung on Rose’s former team, the Toronto Raptors, way back in 2006. Rose spent plenty of time covering Bryant in that game, but the Black Mamba was simply too in-the-zone that night that even Godzilla probably would not do anything to stop his offensive onslaught.

Speaking of offensive prowess, the Sixers star finished the Celtics game with 23 points on 9-of-23 shooting from the field to go with 10 rebounds, two assists, and a pair of blocks in 37 minutes of action.

This isn’t the first time that Joel Embiid tried to hurt Jalen Rose’s feelings with the said number. When asked last year about his conditioning, Embiid retorted that he’s at “81 percent” while dropping Rose’s name.

Never change, Joel Embiid.
