Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid further strengthened his claim for early MVP considerations following yet another monstrous performance against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. The Cameroonian center posted 33 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks in the Sixers' 114-110 win at Little Caesars Arena.

It marks the third consecutive game where JoJo has recorded at least 30 points and 10 rebounds and the fourth time he's had this streak in his career. With that feat, Embiid joined an exclusive company of Sixers legends Charles Barkley and Wilt Chamberlain as the only three players to do so in franchise history, according to Stathead.

With Joel Embiid playing the best basketball of his career, the Sixers won their third straight game and currently lead at the top of the Eastern Conference Standings with a 12-5 record. Prior to Saturday's contest, the All-Star center was norming 27.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.3 blocks. He was also scoring at a much efficient rate, shooting 55.9 percent from the field and 40 percent from past the arc.

Now those are truly MVP-type of numbers right there.

For what it's worth, The Process has been fantastic for Philly throughout his career, but there's no doubt he has taken that next step to superstardom this 2020-21 campaign. It seems that playing under a new championship-caliber coach like Doc Rivers has elevated Embiid's game to the next level. If he continues to play at a high rate, the 7-foot center can break even more Sixers records before the season ends.
