Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup against the New York Knicks.

Embiid has been dealing with an ankle injury, which caused him to miss Friday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks.

That, of course, led to the Sixers suffering a disappointing home loss to Trae Young and company.

And at this point, it looks like there are no guarantees that Embiid will be back for the Eastern Conference showdown against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Embiid is currently averaging 26.9 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game this season, and it's obvious that the Sixers simply aren't the same team without him on the court.

The Sixers would love to have him back in action on Sunday considering that they're now in the midst of a two-game losing streak after the loss to the Hawks.

It doesn't help that the upcoming stretch of games features matchups against tough opponents, so getting Embiid healthy is certainly a top priority for the team right now.

After the matchup against the Knicks, the Sixers will return to Philly to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.

But after that game, things get very difficult with upcoming games against the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder next week.
