Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid came up big in the team's win over the Milwaukee Bucks. However, the Sixers will have to find a way to win without him against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday.

Philadelphia has done their best to temper Embiid's minutes throughout the 2018-19 NBA season. According to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, he will sit out against Charlotte before making his return against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday:

Sixers center Joel Embiid will not play in Tuesday’s game at the Charlotte Hornets as part of load management. He will be available for Wednesday’s home game vs. Celtics.

The Sixers have done all they can to prevent as much wear and tear on Joel Embiid as possible by having him sit out back-to-backs this seasom. It is clear that has not changed going into the playoffs as one of the most talented teams in the East.

This could actually be good news for the Sixers. Most teams have usually opted to sit their star players in these blockbuster showdowns throughout the year. Philadelphia should be able to find a way to keep their four-game win streak going without Embiid against a lowly Hornets squad.

Meanwhile, Embiid will be fully rested for their marquee match-up against the Celtics.

Despite their win against the Bucks, the Sixers are not much closer to gaining a higher seed in the Eastern Conference. Regardless, a win on Wednesday would help them extend their lead over the Celtics going into the final stretch of the regular season.
