The Philadelphia 76ers took on the rivals Boston Celtics on Tuesday night with a big name back on the court: Joel Embiid is finally healthy after suffering a left knee bone bruise against the Washington Wizards.

In the game against Boston, Embiid showed out with 35 points and six rebounds, but after the contest, he was upset that he missed four free-throws–out of the whopping 20 attempts at the charity stripe he attained throughout the game.

Certainly, for his size, Joel Embiid is an exceptional free-throw shooter, and he has improved his stroke from the line in each of his past four seasons with the Sixers (after a dip following his rookie year). This season, Embiid is draining his free-throws at a career-high clip of 85.2 percent.

The gifted big man is also getting to the line at career-high rates. His 64.9 percent free-throw rate is over 10 percentage points higher than his previous career-high, and he’s attempting 11.6 freebies a game.

Embiid’s massive frame and uncanny knack of accentuating even light contact make him a foul magnet, especially considering his hulking frame could easily shake off such minor blows. However, the Sixers star knows it’s effective, which makes him an elite offensive threat.

JoJo missed 10 straight games with the bone bruise, and in that time frame, the Sixers went a respectable 7-3. Nonetheless, they did end up losing their spot as the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference by mere percentage points.
