Despite losing 126-111, the young New York Knicks put up a great fight against the Philadelphia 76ers during their match on Wednesday. This includes Mitchell Robinson, who took the task of matching up against Sixers star Joel Embiid and finished with 14 points, four blocks, two steals, and a career-high 13 rebounds.

After the game, Embiid took a little time to give Robinson some praise, in true JoJo fashion, via Howie Kussoy of The New York Post.

“Obviously he can move really well. He has a lot of potential. He needs to work on his body, but he’s got a chance to be a good big man in this league. … A couple times I thought I had a shot, but he just came up with his long-ass arms and blocked it.”

Robinson has been one of the few bright spots on a Knicks team that has gone 10-47 so far this season. He was drafted by New York in the second round of the 2018 draft but is shaping up to be quite the steal. In just 17.8 minutes per game, he is averaging 6.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks while shooting 69.9 percent from the field.

His 2.1 blocks place him fifth in the league among all players despite not even playing 20 minutes per game. Out of all players that have taken at least two field goal attempts per game, only one other player is shooting a higher field goal percentage than him.

Embiid may be on to something when he says this kid has a chance to be a great big man in the league.
