Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is back in the Sixers' starting lineup after recovering from a bone bruise in his left knee.

Embiid missed the Sixers' past 10 matches due to the injury he suffered during a game against the Washington Wizards last month. His initial recovery timetable was set at two to three weeks, so his return at this point in time was already expected.

It was reported earlier in the week that Embiid was set to return to action after being cleared by the Sixers medical team. He was initially tagged as doubtful for Saturday's tilt against the Wolves, but as it turns out, the All-Star big man is ready to go. It remains to be seen, however, if Embiid will be on some sort of minutes limit.

It is worth noting that the Sixers return to action on Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies. That being the second night of a back-to-back set, it would be surprising if Embiid takes part in the Grizzlies bout. The Sixers are likely going to give their star the night off on Sunday as he continues to work on his conditioning after a two-week absence.

Embiid's return comes at an opportune time for Philly, who just recently slipped to the second spot in the Eastern Conference. Entering Saturday's game against Minnesota, the Sixers are half a game behind the surging Brooklyn Nets, who themselves have won four straight. For their part, Philadelphia has lost two out of their last three games, and they will be hoping to get back to winning ways now that Embiid is healthy.
