Monday's game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Utah Jazz would've featured two of the top big men in the league today. Unfortunately, Joel Embiid had to sit out the game due to back tightness, as reported by Tim Bontemps of ESPN.

There were already initial whispers that Joel Embiid will likely miss the game due to lingering back concerns. Anxieties were magnified when the Sixers center had a big fall on his back against the Los Angeles Lakers two weeks ago. JoJo said that it affected his performance the entire game, and naturally, the concerns remained.

Last January, Embiid shared that he's been working towards getting at a hundred percent health with a bunch of people. He continues to trust the process, knowing that it's the only surefire way to achieve his goal with the Sixers.

“I’m still going back talking to the nutritionists and the people that have been helping me,” the Sixers All-Star big man said, per Justin Grasso of Sports Illustrated. “The goal was to start that, and it’s not gonna happen right away. If I had to give a percentage of how I feel, especially working towards the goal that I have, I wouldn’t even say that I’m at 50-percent. I still got a long way to go, and it’s gonna take a while. You got to keep on doing the right things. Obviously, as time goes, it keeps on getting better. I just got to keep that mentality of doing the right thing, and I’m sure in the end, it’s going to end up paying off.”

After their duel with the Jazz, the Sixers will face the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. Will Embiid be ready to suit up by then?
