Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid is known around the league as a jokester and prankster who loves getting under his opponent’s skin. While this may have rubbed some people the wrong way, the majority of NBA fans thoroughly love the Sixers All-Star for his weird antics, spirited opinions and Shaqtin-a-fool moments.

The reasons behind his actions were always so mysterious and something we couldn’t put our finger on. Was he doing this get a psychological advantage over opposing teams? Is attention something the Sixers center constantly seeks? Or does he just love making fun of other people?

Now, it seems we may have just gotten out the answer.

After handily overpowering Andre Drummond and the Detroit Pistons on Saturday, 109-99, Joel Embiid went on Twitter to have a little fun. After proceeding to roast his Pistons counterpart — reminding him of his “real estate” remarks and saying some savage comments — he then let out this message.

Having fun is and will always be a huge part of JoJo’s personality, and we wouldn’t settle for anything less. In a day and age where trolling other NBA players have been an occasional sight, Embiid at least reminds us to enjoy the right a little.

After all, at the end of the day, basketball is really just a game that these guys love to play. Whether we care to admit it or not, their vigor – besides their highlight dunks and game-winners, of course – is another reason why fans are drawn to them.

Now could this enjoyment be the ultimate goal of The Process? I guess we’ll have to stay tuned for Embiid’s next tweet to find out.
