Sixers star center Joel Embiid says he's going to pay small forward Jimmy Butler's fine for getting ejected in Game 4.

Butler and Brooklyn Nets forward Jared Dudley were both ejected in Game 4. After Embiid fouled Nets big man Jarrett Allen hard, Dudley came out of nowhere and shoved Embiid.

Butler went right back at Dudley and pushed him. Embiid was called for a Flagrant 1 foul on Allen, his second of the series. The Sixers are fortunate Embiid hasn't been called for a Flagrant 2 yet.

Embiid appreciates Butler having his back and will take care of the fine which is coming Butler's way from the league office.

The Sixers defeated the Nets in Game 4 to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Game 5 is on Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Embiid was a monster on Saturday, as the two-time All-Star finished with 31 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists in 32 minutes. Embiid didn't play in Game 3 because of left knee soreness.

Butler, meanwhile, put up 11 points, four rebounds and four assists in Game 4 before getting ejected in the third quarter. Embiid and Ben Simmons took the game over for the Sixers after Butler was ejected.

Butler makes $18,691,627 this season. He can afford the fine, but Embiid wants to be a good teammate and show Butler everyone has each other's back. The Sixers are peaking at the right time.
