Joel Embiid might be praised for his physical gifts on the court, but in reality, he's far more than a 7-foot-2 frame and an athletic body that makes him such an intimidating presence at both ends of the court.

In an interview with ESPN's Jackie MacMullan, the man known as The Process admitted to being a student of the game and spending time watching some of the NBA's elite big men like Karl-Anthony Towns, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Marc Gasol.

“And Blake Griffin,” Embiid added. “I like mobile bodies.”

Embiid's arsenal is a cornucopia of basketball moves ranging from hook shots, to shoulder-dip fadeaway jumpers to between-the-legs crossovers in the perimeter.

A hulking, gifted athlete with his dimensions is now coupled with some smarts, learning from different types of big men and taking the very best out of each of them to aggregate to his ever-growing bag of tools.

He's shown it from the get-go, tallying a double-double of 20.8 points and 10 rebounds per game through six outings in the young season.
