The Philadelphia 76ers have made it clear they want to fix their relationship with Ben Simmons and keep him around. Doc Rivers doubled down on that during his interview on First Take recently, saying he believes the Aussie can still be an impact player for the Sixers. Well, it appears franchise star Joel Embiid feels the same way. It's just a matter of burying the hatchet and getting down to business again. Via Kyle Neubeck of Philly Voice:

“Though it doesn't look good right now, the Sixers continue to insist that their preferred outcome at this point is to bring Simmons back and try to work through this. Embiid has publicly stumped for Simmons and privately insisted they can turn this around if they simply get him back in the gym and around the team. Rivers does not believe this will be an issue in the locker room, using an example from his own playing days to show these situations can be rectified.”

The problem is, Simmons currently has zero interest in reporting to Sixers training camp and has even voiced he won't ever play another game for Philly. Despite his rocky postseason, the team is doing everything under the sun to make him better, even hiring a free throw and shooting coach to rectify his struggles.

Embiid and Simmons are still a deadly combo when they're on the same page. Simmons' ability to facilitate at a high level definitely benefits the big man and frankly, this has been the go-to duo that even led the Sixers to an Eastern Conference title in 2020-21.

Hopefully, this whole situation will be solved because Philadelphia has no intentions of trading Ben Simmons right now.
