Joel Embiid knows the Philadelphia 76ers are good, he also knows how much better they can be if they add a star like LeBron James.

Embiid didn't wait until the offseason to already start recruiting James to the team, as was already on social media a few times during the season trying to recruit The King, to the City of Brotherly Love.

His recruiting didn't just start this season though. Three days after being drafted by the Sixers out of Kansas, he was already trying to get LeBron James to come join him.

When James becomes a free agent on July 1 he will have a ton of teams, and players trying to get him to join their club, and Embiid will be one of those guys.

“I’ll do whatever this team needs me to do,” Embiid said of attracting free agents via the Philly Daily News. “I feel like I’m the leader. If the team needs me to recruit somebody, I’ll be here. I’ll be doing that.

“I want to win. I feel like any of those guys that they want to go after that’s going to help us win, I’ll be right here helping them.”

For now, Embiid doesn't want to be accused of tampering, so he is going to try and keep his mouth shut until July 1. He was asked about recruiting James and this was his response:

“Um …well … um. Is this tampering?” the all-star starter responded.

Embiid didn’t answer the question when speaking to reporters after his end-of-the-season exit interview. He did, however, say he’ll answer that question on July 1, when free agency begins.
