The Philadelphia 76ers might just a catch a break for once. Center Joel Embiid, who suffered a wrist injury after coming back from a left ankle setback on Wednesday, is not expected to miss significant time as his injury is not believed to be serious, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.

Sixers head coach Brett Brown was rather mum on the subject:

“I really don't know a lot to share,” Brown said after the game. “I do know [Embiid's wrist] was whacked twice. As it relates to what's next, or the evaluation of it, I am sorry, I can't comment on that.”

Embiid's last two outings haven't been close to what he expected. He checked out of the game for good with 7:30 left in the first half and was absent from the Sixers bench for much of the remainder of the second quarter, appearing only in the final moments before the end of the first half.

He was late coming out of the locker room for the second half, but he eventually returned and seemed his usual jovial self joking with his teammates. Embiid finished with five points and nine rebounds through 14 minutes on the floor.

Earlier this week, Embiid played only six minutes against the Portland Trail Blazers before being declared out for the game and missing the Sixers' next tilt against the Phoenix Suns.

The Sixers have already ruled out Ben Simmons for the remainder of the season, making Embiid a must-play if Philadelphia is to get past the first round — especially now that they've locked down the Boston Celtics as their opponents.
