The Philadelphia 76ers will be without star point guard Ben Simmons for at least the next two weeks. With that said, Sixers shooting guard Josh Richardson wants the team to have the “next man up” mentality.

The Sixers are 36-22 on the season after defeating the lowly Atlanta Hawks at home on Monday. They face the Cleveland Cavaliers next, a game they should easily win without Simmons. The New York Knicks follow the Cavs, yet another opponent the team should manhandle.

However, on March 1, the Sixers are in Los Angeles to take on the Los Angeles Clippers. Without Simmons, Richardson, Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris and Al Horford will all have to step up collectively for Philly to get the W.

“It’s next man up as always,” Richardson said, via Sixers Wire. “Ben’s a great player, we’re going to miss his presence, but at the end of the day, we need to pick up the slack and keep going.”

Josh Richardson is averaging 14.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in his first season with the Sixers. His scoring and assists numbers will have to go up during this stretch without Simmons.

Ben Simmons has appeared in 54 games for the Sixers this season. He’s averaging 16.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists while shooting 58.5 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 62.7 percent from the free-throw line.
