After arguably the worst five-year stretch in franchise history, the Philadelphia 76ers are finally looking to reverse their fortunes. At least, that is what Hall of Famer and Sixers legend Julius Erving is hoping for.

The Sixers revamped squad has Erving convinced that Philadelphia may finally be able to make that leap into the playoffs, according to Jessica Camerato of CSNPhilly.

“I think we should make a good run at the playoffs,” Erving said. “There’s enough young talent on the team and the system is good enough, it’s proven itself, that, if we can keep a healthy team out there, then we should be able to make a run at the playoffs.”

There is certainly reason for Erving's optimism heading into the 2017-18 NBA season. The Sixers have acquired a bevvy of young talent through the NBA Draft including center Joel Embiid, forward Ben Simmons, and guard Markelle Fultz.

Erving also mentioned the biggest question mark surrounding Philadelphia is whether or not this team can stay healthy.  All the former players mentioned have already been derailed by injuries in their young careers. However, if health permits, the Sixers easily have enough talent to compete for a playoff spot in the depleted Eastern Conference.
