Despite winning Rookie of the Year honors in 2018 and significantly leveling up his game in the two years since, Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons still remains hounded by criticism. One man who has decided to come to the defense of the Sixers star is none other than Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

According to LeBron, he truly believes in Simmons' potential, and he also thinks the Australian national has all the tools required to become a great player:

“He worked his tail off,” James says, via ESPN's Jackie MacMullan. “The sky's the limit for Ben. His size, his strength, his vision, his IQ … he carries himself as someone who believes he's the best, as you should.”

James went on to give some advice to the Sixers youngster with regards to all his critics:

“As long as he doesn't care about what other people say, he'll be fine,” LeBron added. “Nine times out of 10, people who criticize you have never done anything in their life. Either that or they're jealous 'cause you're better than them.”

The great LeBron James is preaching right there. The three-time NBA champ has had his fair share of critics through the years — such is the price to pay for being one of the best ever — and he has learned how to best deal with them. As it turns out, the most effective approach in LeBron's mind is to just shut out all that unwanted and nonconstructive noise, and he is more than willing to share this bit of knowledge with the young Sixers star.

Simmons has taken heat for a lack of development when it comes to his jumper. There have also been questions about his pairing with Joel Embiid. However, this Sixers duo still has a ton of talent, and they shouldn't be counted out.
