After being bought out by the Atlanta Hawks immediately following the trade deadline, Marco Belinelli made his signing with the up-and-coming Philadelphia 76ers official on Monday morning.

With the signing made official, it appears Belinelli is expected to suit up for his new team on Monday night as they play host to the struggling New York Knicks.

Belinelli's debut will come against a Knicks team that will be without star Kristaps Porzingis for the remainder of the year after he tore his ACL. Head coach Brett Brown says that although Belinelli hasn't practiced with the team yet, he envisioned the Italian sharpshooter being the eighth man in the rotation. Belinelli started his career with the Warriors in 2007 and has played for the Raptors, Hornets, Bulls, Spurs, Kings, and Hornets before making his way to the rebuilding Hawks for a brief stint start this season.

The 11th-year international has appeared in 52 games for the Hawks, averaging 11.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 three-pointers per game in just 23.3 minutes of action.

Philadelphia is currently clinging to the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference ahead of the All-Star break, with the Detroit Pistons two games behind and the Charlotte Hornets six games behind in the standings. However, if the team can pull it together to make a big run into the postseason, they're currently just four games out of the third seed in the East as well.
