A report came out earlier this week by The Ringer, saying that Bryan Colangelo overruled other members of the front office in taking Markelle Fultz. According to the report, after Fultz had a bad workout with the Philadelphia 76ers before the draft, some members of the front office said to take a second look at Lonzo Ball or Jayson Tatum, but Colangelo was set on the decision.

Sixers coach Brett Brown stood behind his former general manager saying it was a collaborative decision according to Noah Levick of NBC Sports.

“That is untrue. There was a collaborative decision on Markelle, and we’re still happy that decision was made … Time will tell, but I’ve got belief in Markelle Fultz.”

People inside the Sixers organization saying that it was all Colangelo, and now Brown coming out and saying that it was a collaborate decision is concerning and shows that not everyone in the organization is on the same page.

There wasn't really anything else Brown can say without ruining Fultz confidence. There is still a lot of room for growth with Fultz, but it can happen, especially if Fultz can stay healthy this offseason.

Last season Fultz was injured most of the season and left him to only play 14 games during the regular season averaging 7.1 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.1 rebounds. His jump start needs a major overhaul this offseason, and that would be a good first step towards improving his game. If he continues to struggle with his jump shot, it's going to be very hard for him to take off in this league.
