Statistics reveal that Markelle Fultz, the first overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, has a negative effect on the Sixers.

As reported by Zach Lowe of ESPN, when Fultz is on the court, the 76ers have a -12.9 rating. On the other hand, when he's off the court, the 76ers have a 28.1 net rating.

The ratings may improve as the season progresses, but analysts and scouts have observed that Fultz may be pulling his team down.

From his body language when he's on the court, Fultz seems a bit hesitant in rising up for a shot or even driving to the hoop. At the last minute, Fultz opts to dish it to his open teammates instead of finishing the play by himself. Did last season's shoulder injury mar Fultz' confidence?

Fans can't help but compare Fultz to his 2017 batch mates. The likes of Jayson Tatum of the Celtics, Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma of the Los Angeles Lakers, are already well ahead of him. The aforementioned players are already considered important pillars in their respective teams. Fultz, meanwhile, is considered a liability based on the team's net ratings with and without him.

But then again, the season is young for the Sixers. And Fultz is set to play more minutes and hopefully, play the way a first overall selection should.
