A couple of NFL players recently engaged in a brief Twitter exchange pertaining to Philadelphia 76ers star Jimmy Butler and his impending free agency this summer.

Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Davon Godchaux came out with a bold prediction stating that Butler will be on his way to the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer — something that Jalen Mills, a cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles and obviously a Sixers fan himself, did not seem to agree on.

When they said that the recent Anthony Davis trade was groundbreaking, they really meant it. This high-profile move has shifted the landscape of the NBA, and will definitely have an impact on the events that will transpire in the next few months.

This, of course, will have an effect on the decisions that will need to be made by some of the biggest free agents in the offseason.

Take Butler, for instance. While he may have previously been set on signing an extension with the Sixers to continue building on the process, Davis' recent move to Hollywood might have forced him to think twice about his decision.

If in case L.A. does comes calling, would it be wise for him to turn down such a promising scenario?

Note that this is all from a hypothetical standpoint, though, so in truth, Butler may have already struck a deal in principle with Philadelphia, or unfortunately for Sixers supporters, a different team altogether.
